Embedded in Helppo’s online classroom, the timer calculates payments based on the tutor’s rate
Tutors can set up their per minute rate or at fixed increments of 15, 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes on their tutor profiles —whatever works best for your business.
As the tutor, you can pause the timer when necessary. Once the lesson is complete, an invoice is sent to the student and parent’s email account. Parents can pay via PayPal or with a credit card via Stripe.

Our payment solutions are powered by Stripe and Paypal. Many Chinese speaking students use Wechat Pay. Often, students in China do not have a credit card. Using Helppo, you can accept payments from Chinese-speaking countries!

A Use Case
1 Students need to input their credit card info in order to join the tutoring lesson in this example.
2 Students and Teachers are having an hour lesson the night before an exam.
3 This student requires additional help, and the teacher is available to stay on, so they continue the lesson for another 53 minutes.
4 With the student’s credit card on file, the Helppo system charges the student 113 minutes multiple by tutor’s rate per minute right after the class. The tutor’s hourly rate is 60 dollars. So the tutor will receive 113 dollars.
5 A receipt is sent to the student’s email address automatically; The teacher will also receive an email payment notification immediately.

1 To get paid through Helppo, you’ll need Stripe and/or Paypal accounts. If you don’t already have them, here are the sign-up links: Stripe PayPal
2 Sign up for Helppo, then set up your website including your schedule, subjects, and hourly rate
3 Once your website is set up, you’ll find Stripe and PayPal icons on your administrator dashboard.
4 Click on the Stripe button and connect your account.
5 Use the pop-up window to type in your username and password, then authorize the connection between Helppo, SaaS, and Stripe.
6 Do the same with Paypal.
7 Once done, press the publish button.
8 That’s it! If you want to check it out, you can send test payments to yourself.
Payment should be deposited to your Stripe and/or Paypal account within minutes, then you can deposit the money to your bank account within 3 to 5 days.
Yes, as long as you press the pause button within the first 5 minutes, the student will not be charged.
Once the pause button is activated, a pop-up will appear every 10 minutes to remind you that you have paused the lesson and are currently not charging the student for the session.
As a tutor, you can give students a promo code (provided by Helppo, where each student can only use it once) so they can join the class for free or for a discount. If you accidentally forget to resume the timer
